What is Gat3way? You’re about to find out – read this post and you may win some fresh No Bad Ideas gear!
Rewind back to a few weeks ago and you’d find us in a breakfast meeting with members of the Heavy Gun Blog where they presented the opportunity for a premier sponsorship of Gat3way, the third installment of a hip-hop collaborative music project. We realized that we could give back to the community and support these talented and creative individuals and so a partnership was born.
The title, Gat3way: Rebel Music, may not mean much until you read the full, in-depth view of how and why Gat3way got started from J Brookinz. He mentions how he always felt like a rebel in Indianapolis, “bucking trends and pushing the status quo,” and so the idea of the album built off of rebel music as a nod to Southern Rock and even Bob Marley, who had an album with the same name. He and the Heavy Gun Blog crew spread their love of music around and they successfully got multiple artists to lock themselves into a house with them for a 48-hour recording session to produce the album. This is dedication at it’s finest, and No Bad Ideas fully supports anyone who is willing to put everything aside for creative self-expression. You can catch interviews with IndyMojo.com’s reporter Danielle Smith and even a minute-by-minute account of the shenanigans, down to the last detail.
Here’s how YOU can hear a preview track from the album before the whole shebang is released:
